UW-Parkside Theatre Arts Department kicks off it’s second week of performances for Reasons To Be Pretty, a caustic comedy by Neil Labute, with a $2 admission "rush performance" Thursday, October 16 at 7:30pm for Parkside students with ID.

Though sticks and stones can break your bones, Neil LaBute knows that words hurt! In this edgy, contemporary comedy, Greg makes the mistake of calling a female co-worker "hot", while describing his girlfriend as "regular". This overheard comparison throws his life into turmoil. Relationships at home and at work crumble, and four friends are forced to question their self-worth amid deceit, insecurity and betrayal. Author of The Shape of Things and Fat Pig, LaBute is a powerful and poignant voice in the theatre confronting America's unhealthy obsession with physical beauty.

This production contains explicit adult language and situations.

Reasons To Be Pretty is directed by Lisa Kornetsky and stars Parkside Theatre Arts students Spencer Gray, Zachary Cooper, Blaine Connor, and Robin Feltman.
