Parkside student Alisa Quimbly has been working very hard to do a partnership with the First Step Services homeless shelter in Kenosha. Quimbly works at the shelter and it was really important to her to figure out a way to keep the people warm during the winter. With the help of her friends in the Student Nurses Association at Parkside, they have created a "Stuff a Shirt" charity drive.

The "Stuff a Shirt" event begins with people all over campus donating items to the club by placing them in any of the various boxes around campus. The boxes are marked with the club's initials and even have a handy list of all the items that would be good to donate. On Dec 5, SNAP will be taking the boxes of donations up to the Walnut room for the big event. At this time, any students that want to help can join them in stuffing the donated items into a shirt to give to First Step Services. Students can also write an encouraging note to attach to the shirt.

This is a great way to get involved with our community and help people in need. If you would like to support the event or want more information, here is a link to the event's Facebook page and a list of donation items.
