UW System Board of Regents Meeting at UW-Parkside

On behalf of the University of Wisconsin-Parside learning community, we look forward to the UW System Board of Regents visit to our campus October 3, 4 and 5. I include Wednesday, October 3, because we have an interesting event that evening, showcasing the new UW-Parkside Digital Design and Fabrication Lab. I hope you will make plans to join us.

The University of Wisconsin‐Parkside, now more than ever, is positioned to have a dynamic impact on the lives of our students, members of our communities, and the future of southeastern Wisconsin.

During the October Board of Regents meeting, you will learn more about how the University has grown during the past 50 years, and why we are ready for the exciting decades to come.

We look forward to sharing our progress and our 50 Years Celebration with the Board of Regents in October.

Go Rangers!

To enhance the success of your presentation from the technology perspective, we have taken steps to ensure that an appropriate support is available.

A special speaker support team is available to assist all presenters throughout the meeting. Please do not hesitate to use the services of the staff on hand. Laptop computers, network connectivity, video/data projectors and a variety of audio/visual technologies will be available.

Audio visual

Please email your electronic presentations to Mike Shimkus (shimkus@uwp.edu) at least one day prior to your scheduled presentation. Or if you prefer, simply provide Mr. Shimkus (shimkus@uwp.edu) with an electronic link so he may download your presentation. Electronic presentations will be installed and tested on our campus equipment prior to the meeting. Presentations provided to Mr. Shimkus electronically will be available for your use during the meeting utilizing our campus equipment. You may also contact Mr. Shimkus directly at 262-595-2028 for additional information or for special audio/visual or computer equipment requests.

Staging room

A speaker preparation/support room has been reserved for your use. Please see a UW-Parkside CTS staff person (UWP ID) in the Student Center if you wish to test your presentation or resolve any last minute technical problems that may arise. If possible, please stop by at least one hour before your presentation.

Laptop - ours or yours

If you plan to use your own laptop at the meeting, please bring a backup copy of your presentation on a USB Flash Drive. Our staff can install the backup on our equipment and test it in your meeting room prior to your presentation. This will provide you with a recovery plan in the event of equipment failure.

Testing your presentation

The speaker preparation/support room will have a video/data projector to test your computer’s “monitor out” connection and sound capability. Network access issues or problems will also be addressed in this room.
