Free Standard Turnaround Caption Remediation Service

Videos that are uploaded to your Kaltura My Media library or your YuJa video library are captioned automatically using machine-generated captions, which are not always accurate. The Center for Excellence in Inclusive Teaching & Learning (CEITL) has hired student workers to assist in the remediation of machine-generated captions to ensure a higher percentage of accuracy.

Caption remediation services are provided free of charge for UW-Parkside faculty and staff for Kaltura and YuJa videos with a turnaround time of approximately 10-15 business days. Depending on available resources and the level of demand when requests are submitted, the captioning staff may be able to complete orders in a shorter timeframe. Our caption remediation services prioritize instructional videos used in UW-Parkside courses by term (for example Spring 2026 videos will take priority over Fall 2026 videos).

Rush Orders

If you're in need of a rush order due to a student with a documented disability, you should contact Student Accessibility Services as they have a specific process for students who need accommodations. 
 

Providing Access to the Captioning Team

Within this form, you will be asked to provide the titles of the videos that need caption remediation. Before continuing in the form, please ensure that your videos have been uploaded and view the KnowledgeBase document on how copy and paste the accurate titles for the videos which need caption remediation if your videos are hosted in Kaltura My Media. You will also need to add the captioning team as a collaborator on the videos that require caption remediation. Please view the KnowledgeBase document on how to add the captioning team as a collaborator in Kaltura or in YuJa, depending on which platform your videos are saved in.
