Director Xun Wang is at the Ceremony of Chinese Government National Scholarship for Outstanding PhD. Students Overseas

DIRECTOR XUN WANG AT CEREMONY OF CHINESE GOVERNMENT NATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP

 

Xun (George) Wang, Professor of Sociology, Director of the Institute for China Studies, was invited to attend and deliver a speech at the ceremony for the 2016 Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Self-Financed Students Abroad in Chicago on April 27, 2017.  The award is the highest scholarship set up by the China Scholarship Council in 2003 to honor overseas Chinese Ph.D. students with outstanding academic accomplishments. Mr. Lei Hong, the Consul General (right next to Wang) and Mr. Jun Liu (left next to Wang) of the Consulate General of People’s Republic of China attended and delivered speeches at the ceremony.  Wang served as the chair of the review committee for the scholarship.
