Why did you decide to attend UW-Parkside?

It had an excellent sports management program and Parkside provided a better educational experience being able to get to know your professors.

What activities were you involved in at UW-Parkside?

Not many, I did work ticket sales and helped with a few sporting events.

Do you have a favorite memory from your time as a student at UW-Parkside?
Messing with Professor Boppre about the ending to Marvel’s end game! He is a huge marvel fan so it was fun to mess with him even though i didn’t see the movie!

How did your UW-Parkside experience impact your professional or personal life?

I would say some of my friends like Adam, Pj and Toby showed me that you’re not working as long as you’re having fun! I’d also like to say Dr. Miller, Dr. Parietti and Professor Boppre. They not only prepared me for my degree but they prepared me for the real world.

How did your UW-Parkside experience impact your professional or personal life?

It prepared me for not only the industry I was attempting to go in, but for real life. All my professors did a great job.

What has been one of the top highlights of your career?

Being able to take students who deserve it to a Milwaukee Bucks game every year. I pay out of pocket and work with our Community Connector Troy Collier on selecting up to 20 students. We try to give our kids goals to achieve in order to go. The look on their faces is worth every penny!

Who has had the biggest influence on your life or your career and why?

For life it has been family. Some have been more influential than others but each person played a role in my life who helped shape the person I am today. I wouldn’t be standing here without their unwavering support and love, especially from my mom and grandparents. These people showed me what it meant to love and care for others. For my career it's a tie between two people, two former administrators Craig Tate and Priscilla Marquez. Without Mrs. Marquez I wouldn't have had the opportunity to become an Educator and without Mr. Tate, I wouldn't be the teacher I am today. They both guided me on the right path by passing along the wisdom they’ve accumulated over the years.

Tell us about your family.

It’s a big family and we are extremely close. I grew up with a single mom as an only child but my cousins and I are so close we’re basically siblings! I have 2 aunts (tias) and one uncle (tio) along with their spouses. I am the third oldest of ten cousins. I have two sets of grandparents who are both extremely supportive. Honestly couldn’t ask for a better family even though they’re a pain in the butt sometimes!

What is the last book that you read?
Tuff Juice by Caron Butler

What is your favorite inspirational quote?
I have 2! “ We will chase perfection, and we will chase it relentlessly, knowing all the while we can never attain it. But along the way, we shall catch excellence”- Vince Lombardi
“Just keep swimming” - Dory, Finding Nemo

What is your favorite hobby?

Being active whether it's softball, golf, hiking, dartball or even hanging out with friends, I always have to be doing something.

What advice do you have for current UW-Parkside Students?

Don’t let failure define you. All the greats failed at one point, let it be your greatest teacher.
