A Fund Development Certificate program geared toward nonprofit staff and volunteers is available through Continuing Education and Community Engagement at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. The certificate program helps prepare individuals to be more effective in all aspects of fund development, including financial planning, donor prospecting, making the case for support, and data management.

The Fund Development Certificate is an additional component of nonprofit development continuing education. A free information session will be held from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., Friday, Jan. 30, in Tallent Hall on the Parkside campus. The session provides an overview of the program and its benefits to participants.

"This program helps meet the demand in the nonprofit community for more expertise in the area of fund development," said Crista Kruse, Continuing Education director. "We are excited to offer a series with this scope and depth of content."

The course work is aligned with competencies required for the Certificate for Fund Raising Executives (CFRE) exam and was designed by a team of successful, experienced fund development experts.

UW-Parkside's Fund Development Certificate program is endorsed by the Greater Milwaukee Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. Partial scholarships are available through the support of the United Way of Racine County and Len Iaquinta' Excellence in Communication.
