Faces On The Wall Series: CSM (Ret) Kim Thomas Michalowski, M.S.M.

CSM (Ret) Kim Thomas Michalowski, M.S.M. is the concluding member of our “Faces On The Wall” Series, and another representative of our esteemed alumni here at Parkside. He graduated from Parkside in 1979 with a bachelor of arts degree, and then continued his education with a master’s degree in management from Cardinal Stritch University in 2004. CSM (Ret) Kim Thomas Michalowski, M.S.M. has carried the knowledge he gained from his experiences at Parkside to his long-standing career in the military.

CSM (Ret) Kim Thomas Michalowski, M.S.M. is a Vietnam veteran who served as a K-9 dog handler in the Air Force, and after more than 35 years of military service, retired from the U.S. Army Reserves in 2006 with the title of command sergeant major. Through the duration of his career, Kim is noted as serving as an infantry drill sergeant for a major portion.

In his successful career, he has received numerous awards and medals ranging from the Legion of Merit to the Global War on Terrorism Medal. His successes were noticed further when he was awarded the Order of St. Maurice (Primicerius level), and when he was noted as the 2008 choice for the DAV Commander’s Award as an outstanding VBA employee.

Today, CSM (Ret) Kim Thomas Michalowski, M.S.M. serves as the director of the Bureau of Claims for the Wisconsin Department of Veteran Affairs and is a husband, father, and grandfather.
