Math Programs Merge Under Mathematics and Physics Department

After a separation of more than two decades, developmental mathematics courses from the Academic Skills Program have finally found their way back home to the Department of Mathematics and Physics. Beginning in Fall 2014, all mathematics courses offered by the University will be housed in the department regardless of level. The department will continue and possibly expand upon the highly successful proficiency-based course format originated in the developmental mathematics program. This long-awaited campus mathematical merger will position the department to be more responsive to students' needs.
