eSports and Gaming Certificate

The undergraduate certificate in eSports and Gaming is tailored to help you develop a strong understanding of the structures of what an esports organization might look like and build the groundwork for an understanding of the esports industry.

This provides a theoretical framework for understanding the decisions you will need to make as players, competitors, and teams. It will also help you develop the skills to transfer decision making into a career through the principles of sport management. This certificate will help you see the place of sport – traditional and electronic – in our society. eSports have seen a dramatic rise in participation over the past decade. Not only is there an increase in revenues but in total participation as well. “Global esports revenues will grow to $1.1 billion in 2020, a year-on-year growth of +15.7%, up from $950.6 million in 2019.” (newzoo, 2020)
