Mr. Alan T. Biland '90
Alan Biland has had a notable career of driving business growth and operational excellence at leading global and regional companies. Beginning with CNH Global, he held positions of increasing responsibility in information technology before being recruited to Snap-on Incorporated.
As a senior vice president of Snap-on Incorporated and president of Snap-on Tools Company, Alan directed employees on five continents, leading to increased sales, more efficient supply chain management, and innovative new product designs. Alan also served as president - diagnostics and information, as well as chief information officer (CIO) for Snap-on.
More recently, Alan was executive vice president for A&E Incorporated, a Racine-based manufacturer of hand tools and diagnostics for automotive and industrial markets. Before joining A&E, he was the president and chief executive officer of CC&N, a 100 percent employee-owned company which provides cutting-edge technology services and solutions for businesses throughout the U.S.
Drawing on his extensive experience, Alan is currently president of Byline Consulting, LLC specializing in strategic planning and business improvement.
Alan serves on the advisory board of the UW-Parkside College of Business, Economics and Computing. He has served on the board of directors for several public, private, and non-profit organizations including The Hillman Group, the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE), and the Racine Theater Guild.
Alan and his wife of 37 years, Martha, have been residents of Racine since 1986. He holds a BA from Kalamazoo College in Michigan and a MBA from UW-Parkside, and is a member of the national business honor society, Beta Gamma Sigma.
