UW-Parkside faculty, staff, and students are not only getting ready for spring semester to start, we’re also getting ready for a new round of COVID-19 testing. The following is an update on testing requirements, information and locations for all faculty, staff, and students. *UW-PARKSIDE IS ONLY VACCINATING HIGHER EDUCATION EMPLOYEES AT THIS TIME.*

TESTING UPDATES

Faculty and Staff Testing

UW-Parkside faculty and staff who will be on campus to work for one or more days per week are required to get tested at a frequency of once every two weeks (biweekly).  This practice aligns with UW System Policy SYS 600-01: Interim: Spring Semester 2021 COVID-19 Testing Requirements.

Employees who are working virtually can test at your own discretion. All employees who wish to be tested weekly may schedule appointments to do so.

All required testing will be conducted in Ranger Hall. The hours of operation will be Monday – Thursday 9am-6pm; Friday 9am-1pm. The type of COVID-19 test we are using is a rapid antigen test, which is a minimally invasive lower nasal swab that produces results in 15 minutes.

Please go to UW-Parkside’s Ranger Restart webpage and follow the instructions to schedule a test. Additional information is also on the webpage regarding updates to registration, test results, etc. Please refer to that webpage for any future testing updates and information.

Please note: If you are an employee who is ill or may be exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms (is symptomatic), please contact your primary healthcare provider for evaluation and testing.

Student Testing

Students living on campus (residential students) are required to get tested weekly. Commuter students who are participating in courses that meet face-to-face at least once a week are required to get tested once every two weeks (biweekly). Commuter students who do not come to campus for face-to-face classes are eligible to schedule a COVID-19 test as desired.

All required student testing will also be conducted in Ranger Hall with the same schedule as above (Monday – Thursday 9am-6pm; Friday 9am-1pm). The type of COVID-19 test we are using is a rapid antigen test, which is a minimally invasive lower nasal swab that produces results in 15 minutes.

Please continue to use UW-Parkside’s Ranger Restart webpage and follow the instructions for scheduling a test, learn about updates to registration, find test results, etc.

Symptomatic students should contact Parkside’s Student Health and Counseling Center (SHCC) for evaluation and testing. Please do not go to the Ranger Clinic for testing if you are exhibiting symptoms.

UW-PARKSIDE VACCINATION UPDATE

UW-Parkside and our Student Health Center are partnering with the University of Wisconsin System and state health providers to provide vaccines in accordance with state guidelines to faculty and staff as a way to combat the COVID-19 global pandemic. This is an evolving process and we are still in the planning stages, but we are excited to be a part of the solution to the pandemic that has impacted our Parkside community since early 2020.

Visit the Vaccination Facts Sheet for more information.

We thank you for your patience while we work out the details, including vaccination locations and hours. As soon as we have more information we will make it available to you. Please watch for notices in your UW-Parkside email on how and when to sign up for a vaccine on campus. Thank you.
