Reflecting on Ruby Dee

On February 17-18, Parkside students were given an amazing opportunity to see the new film Life's Essentials with Ruby Dee. The event was made even more special when students were able to meet the film's producer Jevon "NJ" Frank and director/writer Muta'Ali Muhammad, the grandson of Ruby Dee.
Students were truly moved by the film and one student was particularly grateful for the experience. Communication major Cheryl Solomon wrote a reflection about how the film and the special guests impacted her life.
