Tell us about you and your experience at Parkside.
I am a wife and mother to a wonderful man and two amazing baby boys. I have attained a summer internship with the Center for Urban Teaching. I am a junior here at Parkside, pursuing a secondary education degree for math. I chose this major because for years math was my struggle and up until college I began to enjoy the subject. I would like to inspire a love of learning in my future students and be proof that God’s grace is sufficient in overcoming challenges in life and academically. Thank you to the donor who has made my dreams possible. Blessings to you.
What impact has your scholarship had on you?
The encouragement to continue the pursue of my degree. Knowing that someone is supporting me through this process is such a blessing.
"Once I’m out of college I can focus on being the best teacher I can be, for the next generation, without financial stress."
What is a specific goal that felt "out of reach" last year but feels achievable today because of the scholarship you received?
The opportunity to be debt-free and not have to take another loan. This is a relief because once I’m out of college I can focus on being the best teacher I can be, for the next generation, without financial stress.
