Tell us about you and your experience at Parkside.

I am a driven student-athlete at Parkside, where I balance academics and athletics while continuing to grow personally and professionally. As a runner on the track and cross country teams, I have developed strong discipline, time management skills, and a consistent work ethic that carries over into my academic life. I chose my major because I have always had an interest in business and enjoy taking on challenges and being in charge of difficult tasks. I chose Parkside because of the opportunities I was given on the track team and the supportive environment it offers. Looking ahead, my goals are to become successful and truly enjoy where I work while continuing to push myself to grow and improve.

What impact has your scholarship had on you?

My scholarship has had a significant impact on my college experience by allowing me to focus more on my academics and athletics without the constant stress of financial burden. It has given me the opportunity to fully commit to being a student-athlete, balancing my responsibilities on the track and cross country teams while staying dedicated to my studies. The support has also motivated me to work harder and take full advantage of the opportunities I have at Parkside. It has not only helped me financially, but also encouraged me to continue pushing toward my goals and making the most of my college experience.

"The support has also motivated me to work harder and take full advantage of the opportunities I have at Parkside."

What is a specific goal that felt "out of reach" last year but feels achievable today because of the scholarship you received?

Being able to fully commit to excelling both academically and athletically at the same time. Last year, the financial stress of college made it harder to focus completely on my training and schoolwork, and it often felt overwhelming to balance everything. Because of my scholarship, I now have the support to dedicate more time and energy to improving as a runner on the track and cross country teams while also staying focused on my academics. This has made my goal of reaching my full potential in both areas feel much more realistic and attainable.
