Geographic Information System (GIS) Certificate

Geographic information systems (GIS) are used to store, display, and analyze spatially referenced databases to help solve problems and to assist in decision making.

GIS is increasingly important in a variety of applications like transportation planning, business logistics, and environmental impact analysis.

The GIS certificate complements many areas of study including business, communication, computer science, economics, and political science.

Enrollment in this minor complements a wide variety of majors including geography, anthropology (archaeology), geosciences, biology, environmental studies, economics, and computer science.
