How to schedule a COVID-19 Test

In order to keep campus open safely, it is imperative we all follow the guidelines and protocols and check your symptoms each day. 

The information on this page will assist you in scheduling a test for COVID-19. Please follow the steps listed below.

A few notes before you get started

  • Testing will take place in the Ranger Clinic located in Ranger Hall room 47
  • All individuals will need to complete a one-time registration in the UW-Parkside testing portal
  • If you have tested positive for Covid19 within 90 days, you will need to wait before resuming testing.

Get started by follow the colors based on your symptoms

If you are Asymptomatic - follow the light green boxes

If you are Symptomatic - follow dark green boxes

Determine if you are symptomatic...




  • Fever greater than 100.4
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Fever
  • Chills
  • Muscle pain
  • Sore throat
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Other respiratory symptoms (sneezing, wheezing, congestion)
  • Gastrointestinal symptoms (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea)

If you are in quarantine please do not leave to go get tested. Once you are cleared from quarantine continue with the steps below based on symptoms.

Schedule an appointment

If you are asymptomatic...

Antigen Tests are available for asymptomatic individuals. Below is a list of individuals who need to get tested regularly:

  • Residential students are REQUIRED to be tested once a week
  • Commuter students are REQUIRED to be tested every other week
  • Faculty and staff who report to campus one or more days a week are REQUIRED to be tested every other week

Before your appointment

  • Please complete a one time registration and assessment from our testing provider
  • Things to note:
    • This differs from previous surge testing portal
    • Have your Parkside email address and date of birth (DOB) available for registration
    • If you have issues logging into the Parkside Portal please contact Jessica Cole.

  • Schedule an appointment using  MyChart to receive an antigen test.

If you are symptomatic...



Register to receive a test at the Student Health and Counseling Center by calling 262-595-2366.

*Note:  you MUST SELF-ISOLATE prior to your appointment and after your appointment while pending results*


Please contact your primary care physician for appointment and testing

Head to your appointment

Time for your appointment:

  • Check in at Ranger Hall - Room 47
    • Enter on the parking lot level of Ranger Hall
  • The testing procedure should take less than five minutes to complete.

  • Be sure to wear a mask to your appointment and arrive on time at your designated testing location.

  • Upon your arrival, you will check-in and verify your information.

  • The testing provider will perform a nasal antigen test.

Time for your appointment - Students:

  • Visit the Student Health and Counseling Center at the time of your appointment
    • Located east of Tallent Hall
  • Student Health and Counseling Center lobby is closed at this time - upon arrival please call the provided number to notify SHCC staff you are on site.
  • Stay where you are at until someone comes and gets you for your appointment.

Time for your appointment - Faculty/Staff

  • Please follow guidelines from your primary care physician

After your appointment...

After your appointment:

  •  You will receive an email to log into your Parkside Portal to view results.
  • If you have a POSITIVE antigen test you should return to Ranger Clinic to take a confirmatory PCR test, and then isolate. 
    • You will receive your Results from a PCR confirmatory test in 3-4 days (You will receive an email to log into your Parkside Portal to view results)
    • DO NOT go to work, school, or public areas
  • Residential Students 
    • Contact your Hall Director to review isolation guidelines
    • Staff will also discuss with you: food delivery, package delivery, and classes
  • If you test POSITIVE please fill out the REQUIRED self-reporting form

Additionally, expect a call from UW-Parkside's contract tracing team.


After your appointment: 

  • DO NOT go to work, school, or public areas
  • If you test negative:
    • follow instructions from your healthcare provider
  • If you test positive:
    • Students:
      • A  representative will call to discuss self-isolation guidelines as well as food delivery, package deliver, and classes.
      • The Dean of Students will contact your instructors notifying them.
    • Faculty/Staff
      • follow guidelines from your primary care physician
  • You may also be contacted by contact tracing individuals for reporting and safety purposes.
