Any First Year (freshman) student starting classes in Fall 2018 is eligible to attend.

Attendance is required for the entire time of the retreat. The sessions at the retreat are designed to build on the previous.  Therefore, all sessions are important and critical to your (and the rest of the attendees) overall experience.  If you are unable to attend the whole time, you will not be able to participate. 

Review the schedule. 

We will be staying about 20 minutes from campus at St. Iakovos Retreat Center in Kansasville, WI.  The retreat center is fully equipped with air-conditioning, showers, beds, etc.  While it is in a remote part of Wisconsin, it has very modern amenities.  

You will be staying with other students of the same gender identity in a bunk house.

No.  All participants are required to stay at the retreat site.

No way!  We will make sure you are well fed!  Breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks will be provided on Saturday and breakfast/lunch will be provided on Sunday.

Wi-Fi is not available and you will not have access to use electronic devices during the retreat.  We want everyone to be “all-in” and focused on your experience at the retreat and not what is happening at home, work or on-campus.

You should plan on bringing a pillow, bedding (or a sleeping bag), a change of clothes and some gym clothes, closed-toe shoes (tennis shoes or sneakers), a Parkside t-shirt/sweatshirt and any toiletries you may need.

We will provide transportation from Parkside to the retreat center on Saturday and back to Parkside on Sunday.

If you do not show-up, you cancel your registration later than 12 pm on August 31, you do not successfully complete the program or are removed from the program for any reason, your SOLAR account will be charged the full registration fee of $175.
