Undergraduate Research Apprenticeship Program

To provide support for undergraduate students for research and other creative and scholarly work, the Provost’s Office sponsors the Undergraduate Research Apprenticeship Program (URAP). The URAP program supports opportunities for students to engage in high-impact practices and build professional connections with their professors and community partners through involvement in collaborative research experiences.

The goals of the URAP are:

  • To expand opportunities for undergraduate students, faculty, and academic staff to collaborate in the search for knowledge and creation of artistic work, and to acknowledge and celebrate the accomplishments of undergraduate researchers
  • To foster critical thinking and active learning activities through high-impact practices
  • To reinforce the synergistic relationship between teaching and scholarship

Each Fall and Spring semester, the Provost’s Office solicits proposals for collaborative research projects between students and faculty members. Students participating in URAP will receive $500. Faculty members and students who are interested in participating in URAP may contact the Provost's office (provost@uwp.edu) for additional information.
