UW-Parkside/Fireside Theatre Internship

UW-Parkside and the Fireside Dinner Theatre celebrates their many years of partnership and are again offering a paid summer internship program. The university is searching for four high school students to serve as technical assistants with the responsibilities of set construction, prop construction, painting, and set installation. As interns, the students will be enrolled in an Independent Study in Technical theatre through the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. 

Award

Upon completion of the internship, each intern will receive a one credit hour in theatre practicum through the University of Wisconsin-Parkside and will also receive $250. 

Cost

The tuition fee for the one credit hour is paid for by the internship program. On-campus housing will be provided, depending on need and/or availability.  

Dates

The internship starts in June and ends in July, 2020. On July 19, the intern crew will depart for Fort Atkinson, and assist in the load-in of the Fireside's production of Rodger's & Hammersteins Cinderella. Interns will work through the night and return to UW-Parkside on July 20 for check-out. 

Times

A standard workday is from 9 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday.

Application Requirements

Only junior or senior high school students with a written recommendation from their Theatre/Drama instructor or other instructor and parental permission will be considered for the internship. Emergency contact information must also be provided.

All written recommendations, parental permission, and applications must be mailed, emailed, or faxed to Nathan Stamper. Please make a copy for your records. Check the communications you received from your high school or contact Nathan Stamper for more information.
