Parking Permit Information
2024-2025 Parking Permits
All students must use SOLAR to order an annual or semester permit. Please visit the Police Department home page for office hours if other arrangements need to be made.
Commuter Parking Permits
All vehicles parked on campus must display a valid Parkside parking permit or risk being ticketed. You will need to obtain up your permit and display it in your vehicle; simply ordering a permit does not count as having one.
University Police will not be checking cars for permits the first two weeks of Fall semester, as to allow students time to get their financial aid and purchase a permit.
You can order on SOLAR and pick up a permit before paying your tuition bill; it is not required that your financial aid be disbursed before you buy a permit. All other parking rules and regulations must be followed. You may receive a courtesy reminder during this time.

2024-2025 Permit Notes
Permits ordered prior to move-in will be in your check-in packet. Permits ordered after move-in will be put in your mailbox. You will have the first two weeks of Fall semester to obtain a permit and display it in your vehicle, after that you can be cited for No Permit. Permits must be displayed by Monday, September 16th.
Students moving out at semester may qualify for a pro-rated refund, please contact University Police for information at 262-595-2455.
If you are moving into or out of housing at semester, you will need to swap your permit either to a commuter pass or to a housing pass. This can only be done at University Police.
NOTE: Residents who are taking summer classes as commuters must swap their permit for a commuter summer pass when Spring semester ends. This can be done at the University Police Department.
Students living in Ranger Hall, University Apartments and Pike River Suites should be aware that there are designated areas in which to park their vehicles. Your Residence Life permit is only valid in the Residence Life lots - Ranger, University Apartments, and the small Pike lot. If your vehicle is found parked in the Student Center Lot (lot A) and the Rita lot (lot B/C), citations will be written for invalid permit area.
The small Pike lot is first come, first serve. If it is full, residents must park in either University Apartments or Ranger lot. If your vehicle is found parked in the Student Center Lot (lot A) it will be cited. If you should feel unsafe walking from the farther lot, please call University Police at 262-595-2455 and an officer will be dispatched to walk with you.
During normal Sports & Activities Center business hours, student athletes living in housing but needing to use SAC facilities may park their cars in the SAC lots. The SAC lots close at 2AM.
During snow emergencies, you will be notified in advance when to move your vehicle so Residence Life parking lots can be plowed.
Guests needing to park overnight in Residence Life lots should visit the permit kiosks outside Ranger Hall and in the core building of the Apartments to obtain an overnight guest parking permit, $6 for each 24 hours, up to 72 hours (3 nights) total. If the guest holds a commuter parking pass, an overnight guest permit should still be obtained. Commuter lots close at 2am and vehicles parked there after hours will be ticketed.
Should you attempt to park your vehicle and find all spaces in the Residence Life lots are full, please contact University Police at 262-595-2455 for information on where to park.
