The University of Wisconsin-Parkside invites applications for the position of Assistant Men’s and Women’s Track & Field / Cross Country Coach.
Under the general supervision of the Head Men’s & Women’s Cross Country/Track & Field Coach, the Assistant Men’s & Women’s Track & Field/Cross Country Coach will be responsible for assisting with the operation and management of all aspects of the program, including but not limited to: recruitment and coaching/development of student-athletes in the sprints, hurdles and/or field event(s), monitoring student-athlete academic progress, fundraising and program operations, hosting of collegiate and club/high school events and competitions, and community engagement. All work will be done in accordance with university, conference, and NCAA regulations. Due to the nature of this work, a willingness and flexibility to work nights and weekends is required. This position is a campus security authority and mandatory reporter as defined by federal and state law.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree
- 2 or more years’ experience coaching at the college level
- Demonstrated knowledge of at least two of the following event groups: sprints/short relays; hurdles; horizontal/vertical jumps; throwing events.
- Valid driver’s license
Preferred:
- Master’s Degree
- Experience working with multi-event (decathlon, heptathlon, pentathlon) student-athletes
- Experience coaching at the NCAA Division I or II level
- Background of effective recruitment and retention of student-athletes
