Employee Assistance Program

Employee Assistance Program | Overview | The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provides you* and members of your household with confidential resources to address personal/work-related concerns, assist with legal/financial situations or help with work-life balance. Access to EAP services is employer-paid. You do not need to be enrolled in the State Group Health Insurance Program to use the EAP services.

EAP services are available to you for 12 months following your termination of employment.
*Graduate Assistants are not eligible for the EAP. Similar services may be available through your institution’s student health services.
- ONLINE TOOLS & RESOURCES The EAP website at sowi.mylifeexpert.com is your online resource, available when you need it. The website provides you and your family with tools and information to address life’s pressing concerns. You will find webinars, self-assessments, soft skills trainings, podcasts, articles, and more. Additionally, you can access calculators, childcare and eldercare resources, download legal and financial forms, and more.

Mandatory Employee Training
Effective Monday, June 1, 2020, the administration of employee mandatory training will be conducted by UW-Shared Services. Centralizing this service for all UW-System institutions will provide opportunities for efficiency and streamlining of this transactional function.
As an employee of University of Wisconsin-Parkside, you are required by UW policy to receive training on three topics:
- Information Security Awareness (required annually);
- Sexual Harassment (Title IX) [required every 3 years];
- Mandated Reporter (required only one time); and
- Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI-DSS) (required for employees who handle payment cards);
UW-Shared Services is moving to a standardized process for course delivery, compliance monitoring and employee support for the trainings listed above.
SEXUAL HARASSMENT (TITLE IX) [REPEATED EVERY 3 YEARS]
- Course is repeated every three years.

- You will find the training to be completed in My UW Portal. Search for the tile called Mandatory Training.
PCI DSS: PAYMENT CARD INDUSTRY DATA SECURITY STANDARD (REPEATED ANNUALLY)
- Course is repeated annually.
- If you are employed in a department/organization that accepts payment cards as a form of payment (except student employees), you will receive an email with a direct link to the course. This email may inadvertently be directed to junk or clutter folders instead of your inbox.
