The University of Wisconsin-Parkside invites applications for a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor (9 month) position in organic chemistry/biochemistry.

Qualifications

Required

Ph.D. in organic chemistry, biochemistry or related field
Ability to teach courses related to organic chemistry, biochemistry and general chemistry
Dedication to undergraduate education
Relevant prior teaching experience
Demonstrated interest in teaching a culturally diverse student population
Research experience demonstrated through peer-reviewed publications
Research projects suitable for undergraduates

Preferred

Post-doctoral experience
Evidence of excellence in teaching at the college level
Research expertise in organic chemistry or biochemistry
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain an active research program
Demonstrated success securing external funds to support research

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include: teaching, scholarly research, advising students majoring in Chemistry, and participating in departmental/campus/community/professional service.

The incumbent will have a teaching load of 24 credits per academic year in the core courses of the Chemistry major and minor, and in upper division electives. The successful candidate will contribute to teaching undergraduate organic chemistry and biochemistry, and general chemistry courses for nursing students. The candidate is expected to establish and maintain an active research program involving undergraduates and to secure external funds to support research.
