The English Department at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside invites applicants for a one-year full-time Lecturer in Professional Writing. This position is a fixed term terminal appointment with no intent to renew. The lecturer will have a teaching load of 30 credits per year of college level writing, both freshman composition and other levels.
Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses, advising undergraduate students; service activities to the department and university; and working collaboratively with the University Community. Working with diverse populations and non-traditional students is essential for this position.
Master’s degree in English, Technical Writing or Communication, Professional Writing or Communication, or a related discipline from an accredited university
A good record of teaching college level writing, both freshman composition and other levels
Expertise in Technical Writing, Business Writing, Professional Editing, Grant Writing or other professional writing areas
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Demonstrated expertise as an instructor based on evidence of teaching effectiveness
Demonstrated experience working effectively with students and staff from culturally diverse backgrounds.
