POSITION SUMMARY
The Department of Mathematics and Physics at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside seeks applicants for a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in Mathematics, scheduled to start in the 2018-2019 academic year.
Responsibilities include teaching Mathematics in traditional and alternative course delivery methods (e.g., curricular development and redesign, proficiency-based learning, flipped classroom, online/hybrid). This position will teach classes at the undergraduate level as assigned by the Math-Physics Department Chair. Opportunities to teach additional courses in the summer and winterim semesters may be available for additional compensation depending upon the needs of the Mathematics-Physics Department. This position is expected to establish and maintain an active research program. In addition, the position will be expected to contribute service to UW-Parkside, the College of Health and Natural Sciences, the Mathematics-Physics Department, profession and community including advising students in the Mathematics program.
Qualifications
Required:
- Ph.D. in Mathematics Education.
- Innovative teaching and learning experiences. Experience in new teaching/alternative course delivery methods (e.g., curricular development and redesign, proficiency-based learning, flipped classroom, online/hybrid).
- At least one year of post-graduation teaching experience at the college/university level.
- Research record in mathematics education.
- Eligible to work in the United States
