The University of Wisconsin-Parkside is proud to offer graduate assistant positions beginning in the 2018-2019 academic year. To be eligible, students must be admitted to a degree-seeking Master’s program at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. Appointments are contingent upon maintenance of minimum credit requirements and good standing in a graduate degree program.

These graduate assistants will gain valuable experience in Wisconsin’s only NCAA Division II athletics department. Meanwhile, the athletics department will improve its operational efficiency, competitiveness, and student-athlete experience by building capacity through degree-seeking graduate students.

The successful candidates will work a 10-month appointment (August1-May 31) for the 2018-19 academic year with the opportunity for renewal of a second year. Each graduate assistant will receive an annual stipend of $7,500.00 paid monthly and a scholarship of 50% of tuition (in-state or out-of-state). External Relations Graduate Assistant

Overview

The external relations graduate assistant will contribute to the UW-Parkside athletics department’s efforts in corporate partnerships, fundraising, ticket sales, marketing, and promotions. The external relations graduate assistant will oversee the creation and execution of marketing and promotional schedules for each intercollegiate sports team.

The position will also assist with the department’s corporate partners program, through the creation of inventory, sales and fulfillment of partnerships. The GA will also assist in the advancement and alumni relations efforts, providing support for alumni and fundraising events and donor communications.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required. Experience in college athletics, specifically marketing, sales, and/or promotions is preferred. Candidates must have strong communication skills. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, etc.) is preferred. Must be willing to work long hours including nights, weekends and holidays in addition to weekly office hours scheduled around University classes.

Communications Graduate Assistant

Overview
The communications graduate assistant will work under the direction of the Assistant AD/Communications and assist in the promotion of the department’s student-athletes and 13 athletics teams. The graduate assistant will serve as the primary media contact for select sports. Duties and experiences will include the creation of press releases and other written content, website maintenance of ParksideRangers.com, game day operations, video production assistance, photography, graphic design, and social media.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required. Experience in college athletics, specifically communications, video production, and/or sports information is preferred. Candidates must have strong communication skills. Knowledge of

Stat Crew/The Automated Scorebook and Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, etc.) is preferred.

Volleyball Assistant Coach (Graduate Assistant)

Overview
The volleyball assistant coach (graduate assistant) will assist the head volleyball coach with the operations of a Division II volleyball program, including assisting with planning and executing practice, scouting opponents and film breakdown, coordinating recruitment, organizing camps and clinics, and monitoring the academic progress of student-athletes.


Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required. Experience playing and/or coaching competitive volleyball preferred.
