IS Technical Services- Senior
(Working Title: Desktop Support Technician)

The University of Wisconsin Parkside currently has a IS Technical Services-Senior position vacancy in the Campus Technology Services Department.

Salary: Pay Schedule/Pay Range:07-03.Pay will not be less than the minimum of the pay range, $22.247/hr.

A six-month permissive probation period may be required.

Job Duties: Reporting to the Desktop Support Manager, this position performs professional IS work related to ongoing technical support for departments, and individual faculty/staff. The position duties may also include, but are not limited to: development of procedures for computer installation, development of images, maintaining an inventory of technology equipment and providing customer service to faculty, staff and serving as a team member for various technical projects. The incumbent is operating under general supervision.

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Qualified candidates will have the ability to troubleshoot and solve both routine and complex computer problems, have the ability to work independently, have effective interpersonal, oral and written communication skills for both technical and non-technical customers, and be able to provide excellent customer service. Candidates shall have working knowledge of Windows, Apple, and/or Linux, Microsoft Office products including System Center Configuration Manager and Group Policies. Candidates will also have knowledge of basic PC networking concepts, PC hardware and its interaction with operating systems, IP addressing, DNS and routing, and desktop security and antivirus best practices, including virus removal/prevention and hacking detection/deterrence
