Position Location: Southeastern, WI 

The University of Wisconsin-Parkside invites applications for the position of Marketing Specialist in the University Advancement department. 

This position reports to the University Marketing Manager, serves as a member of the marketing team and develops marketing content that align with the strategic and academic plans of the university. This position will advance marketing strategies to support enrollment growth. They will be a content editor in assigned areas of the university web site and with e-marketing and develop collateral materials for university initiatives. Performs other marketing duties as assigned. 

Qualifications 

Education, Experience, Training And/or Certifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, communications, or relevant creative field
  • Three or more years of experience in marketing
  • Ability to develop creative briefs and drive creative within strong brand
  • Strong time and project schedule management skills required to consistently meet deadlines
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments simultaneously
  • Knowledge of content management platforms for web page and content development, such as CommonSpot
  • Experience developing, maintaining, and delivering on marketing plans to meet organizational objectives
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Preferred

  • Graphic design experience using Adobe Creative suite
  • Experience working in a higher education environment
  • Well organized, strong administrative and detail-oriented skills

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

60% Marketing Liaison:

  • With direction from the University Marketing Manager assist with development and implement the marketing plans, tactics, and enrollment strategies for assigned clients
  • Review, understand, and uphold the university brand and marketing procedures
  • Communicate brand standards and marketing procedures to assigned clients
  • Conceptualize and manage annual marketing plan for assigned clients that aligns with enrollment marketing plan
  • Manage assigned clients’ marketing requests – project management, marketing creative development (collateral, website, video, photography, media, digital), etc.
  • General daily marketing execution
  • Develop and implement a post mortem review and analysis of marketing activities

30% Brand Execution:

  • Edit and create publications and graphic elements to align with brand
  • Understand and communicate brand standards to assigned clients
  • Execute high quality communications to garner consistency of style, identity, and theme in accordance with the university’s established brand
  • Design and develop elements for integration in marketing materials consistent with brand

10% Website Liaison:

  • Update content and layout of assigned webpages
  • Provide web support and content editing for assigned clients
  • Manage workflow for technically advanced web changes
  • Use analytics to track marketing efforts and website effectiveness
