Housing and Residence Life is one of the largest employers of students on campus. Working for Housing and Residence Life will give you excellent training and experience in leadership, communication skills, problem solving, working with people, and community development. When positions are available, they will be posted on Handshake unless otherwise noted. All students are invited to apply whether they live on campus or not.
Student staff members known as Resident Advisors reside in all residence halls and work with the hall director staff. Resident advisors are trained to work with students to resolve conflict with roommates or friends as well as trained in handling crisis situations on campus. They have contact with residence life staff as well as the University Police. Resident advisors work desk hours where they are available to help residents. During this time they are required to do rounds around the residence hall where they will check for safety concerns as well as interact with students. During the school year resident advisors also hold programs for residents to attend. Applications for Resident Advisors are usually posted toward the end of the fall semester for the following academic year and are completed on Campus Connect.
Work in the Department of Housing and Residence Life located on the ground floor of Ranger Hall. They work on assisting students with housing details as well as sorting and logging mail for the three residence buildings. Office hours are from 8 am until 4:30 pm Monday through Friday. Office Assistants are available during these times to take any questions or direct students to the appropriate resource.
Work at the mail desks in each resident building from 4 to 6 pm, Monday through Friday. They are in charge of distributing mail into the appropriate mail boxes as well as the retrieval of packages for residents.

Summer Maintenance Worker
Summer Facilities staff works over the summer months to revitalize and repair the residence halls. This is a full time position that begins at the start of the summer semester and concludes in prior to the start of the fall session. You would be in charge of maintaining Parkside's high quality living facilities while preparing the resident halls for the arrival of students.
Student custodians work with our custodial staff to maintain residence hall facilities. Custodians are in charge of restroom, hallway, and common area upkeep. You have the opportunity to work in shifts that are convenient to your school schedules.
